Going back on the topic of the aspect ratio, and let me make clear that im on niether side. The 4:3 is indeed the original aspect ratios but the film masters still had information on the left and right sides. In the 16:9 version those left and right sides where digitally remastered and restores producing new frames basically refilming the entire series over. The fact still stands that there is cropping but isnt as bad as a complete crop. If you look at the comparison you will notice there is more of the scene to the left and right in the 16:9 version then there is on the 4:3 version, in contrast the 4:3 version has more of the scene on the top and bottom. So either way both versions are Cropping something, and personally I have both versions (downloaded) and love them both, If you guys can wait, I Plan on making a remaster of my own, combining the 16:9 and 4:3 versions together and also replacing the intro to the original (i think the new one sucks). Japanese promotional poster for Dragon Ball Z Kai Dragon Ball Z Kai (known in Japan as Dragon Ball Kai) is a revised version of the series. It was produced in commemoration of the original series' 20th and 25th anniversaries. Produced by, the series was originally broadcast in Japan on from April 5, 2009 to March 27, 2011. A follow-up series, adapting the remaining story arcs, aired in Japan from April 6, 2014 to June 28, 2015. Kai features remastered picture, sound, and special effects as well as a re-recorded voice track by most of the original cast.
As most of the series' sketches and animation had been discarded since the final episode of Dragon Ball Z in 1996, new frames were produced by digitally tracing over still frames from existing footage and filling them with softer colors. This reduced visible damage to the original animation. Some frames were selectively cropped, while other frames feature new portions added to scenes that were hand drawn to conform to the designated picture ratio. Much of the original material from Dragon Ball Z that was not featured in the has been left out in Kai, which reduced the total episode count from 291 to 167. The second part of the series, titled Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters by Toei Europe and, lasted 61 episodes in Japan, which was fewer than the previously planned 69. This brought the total number of episodes to 159 in Japan.
The International Version of The Final Chapters, however, had a total of 69 episodes, as originally planned. The first and compilation was released in Japan on September 18, 2009.
Individual volumes and Blu-ray box sets were released monthly. France was the first international country to release all 167 episodes on Blu-ray and DVD, while the bypassed episodes remain unreleased in Japan. • This episode was originally scheduled to air in Japan on March 27, 2011 as the 98th episode, but Fuji TV postponed its broadcast to air news coverage on the. The episode was eventually released as an 'extra' episode on Blu-ray and DVD in Japan on August 2, 2011, and in North America on June 5, 2012. • ^ The International airing of the Buu Sagas (Seasons 5–7) of Dragon Ball Z Kai features 8 episodes worth of footage cut from the Japanese airing. The episodes listed without a Japanese counterpart date or title were cut to such a degree in Japan that the episodes had to have another title to be consistent internationally.
