Have you seen the Pentax Serial Number Database? Use it to keep track of your serials, prevent theft, and see if the item you're about to buy is. Nov 9, 2018 - Welcome to the Pentax Serial Number Database at test. This database contains an ever-evolving listing of serial numbers for every kind of.

Good evening, As may have been noted in 'Leads to Deals' I have just receive a Pentax 18-135WR which is claimed to be a genuine, not grey, import. Is there anyway/anywhere I can check if the serial number in question denotes a genuine import but I might want to consider returning the lens under the 7 day period of the Distance Selling Regs if it is not? (Note: have already sent an email to Johnsons, but am not sure if I will get a response in time - not that I particularly want to send it back as it is in 'new condition' and reasonably sharp in the few tests done yesterday) K-3 II, K-3 and K-30 (now running the Hacked K-50 f/w, so it thinks it is one of those ), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!) - and now a K-70 from SRS. John Thanks - but it is difficult to tell exactly how good/poor the lens actually is from the few shots made so far. The seller claims it is covered by the Pentax 2yr European Warrantee, but no warrantee card came with it - and if it were to be a grey import to the EU then, should it be 'problematic' within those 2yrs, then I might be a bit 'stuck'. That's why checking the S/N seems like a 'good idea'. John A K-3 II, K-3 and K-30 (now running the Hacked K-50 f/w, so it thinks it is one of those ), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!) - and now a K-70 from SRS.

Thanks - didn't realise that Cardiff Camera Centre is a Pentax Pro Dealer until you pointed that out! (confirmed via the Pentax UK website). So everything should be fine. Update: serial number should now be posted here- The guidelines below still apply, but the above is a dedicated database for serial numbers. There appears to be quite some interest in how the K1000 model developed over time. If all owners chime in we should be able to figure this out once and for all. Please post the information about your K1000 as a reply to this thread. Tsubasa Given enough conclusive data I will later create a database with the information. Here is what we are looking for (refer my next post for pictures).
