This article is devoted to the family abuse of children as the factor that hinders a child's personal growth. The rationale of the research is caused by the importance of self-relation that is formed at teenager age and acts as the basic condition of a child's future socialization success. Emotional and evaluative components of self-attitude are considered as psychological consequences of physical violence applied to adolescents in the family. This article also examined the attitude of parents to adolescents, analyzed the reasons that prompted parents to use this form of punishment.
